Is alcohol in moderation actually good for one's health?
I've heard people who have lived over 100 years say that they drink a single (and only one) cocktail a day or night. I've also heard some people say that alcohol can cleanse the body of certain toxins, even though alcohol metabolizes into its own toxins.

Is alcohol in strict moderation, healthy?

no. with just one exception, if you have high-blood pressure and your doctor tells you to drink a little "soft liquor" like wine, then it's okay. as alcohol is a "downer" as opposed to caffeine, which is an "upper". but generally, alcohol is not good for you. it overloads the liver and causes your liver to work way more than it's meant to. that'll leave liver scars and eventually you will get either infected in the liver and/or get cancer in your liver.

No. Long term use of alcohol has bad effects on liver and brain. Plus it can even lead to alcohol addiction.

Alcohol in small quantity is good for health.

Alcohol in moderation is healthy, especially if you're consuming red wine which has high levels of polyphenols (antioxidants) which can prevent heart disease and cancer. As long as you drink in moderation, alcohol in any form can reduce your risk for hypertension, peripheral artery disease, Alzheimer's disease and the common cold. Make sure you don't binge drink though, because that can cause liver damage. Use this online application to make sure you don't over do it:
