In this current day, women are referred to as "bitches", "whores", and "sluts" on a daily basis with little or no reaction from the general public in a world where you can go in to a department store and buy a thong for an 8 year old; and where the youth are being taught that divorce is normal and you can throw someone away as soon as you are sick of them. Things like wedding rings and commitment are becoming foreign concepts as weekly occurrences of child murders and abductions have become routine exercises. We grow up with the mind frame that we "shouldn't even bother", we "can't make a change" and that's "just the way things are". These lies have normalized themselves to the point where our inactivity has reached an obscene level of selfishness. The reality is that we as a culture consciously make choices which affect each other, and we have the power to change. We are taught that differences of opinion automatically means that we should resort to fists. This mindset has gone on for far too long and has kept us divided and unproductive. Violence is a sacred gift, a defense mechanism, something to be used as a last resort to defend ourselves or others in life threatening situations; and when it is done we should reflect in shame with the intentions of stopping it from ever happening again.
