Cat Desease?

Cat Desease?
Recently, we had both of our cats dying; didn'd seem like they were poisoned, because they died like they were sleeping, their bodies weren't twisted and turned like they should have after an agonizing death by some poison. Now both are gone and my kids are devastated. We also have two dogs, which werde not affected by any of that at all. They seem healthy as they ever were.
Can anyone tell us what went on with our cats?
They did not seem like they had any symptoms whatsoever during their last day, or even the morning before their silent death, but our last cat I found dead under our frontsteps looked like it was just sleeping until we realized that he was not. We live in Florida; maybe that would give you all a hint.
I hear a lot about those (to me stupid sayings) that outdoor pets would eat sometimes those so-called "poisonous frogs", and get sick or even die.
No indication is there for any kind of poisoning, like I said already. Thanks for your serious advice!!
The one that died first was about 3 years old; the second died (2 weeks later) was only a half-year old male kitten.
Anyways, I just realized, that our neighbor has a bad septic tank, with its water emerging into his and partially our the yard. Could they have drank that water in order to die? Our dogs have no access to that nasty water, so they weren't to drink any of it, because they stay around their dog house and can't reach that at all.
Thanks for your answers so far, guys!!
".....partially our yard", I meant to type, but it wouldn't let me correct my bo-boo, lol!

they probably got cat parvo, it kills really fast.
my dog got parvo & started showing signs on tuesday & he just died like an hour ago :( even when we took him to tha vet & he got medicine.

The only way you would have any guess would be to have a vet to do an autopsy and send away samples to have tested if there is nothing noticebly wrong on the inside.

Toxicities generally cause kidney or liver failure before anything else, or even cardiac issues without symptoms. It is very possible that their deaths were the result of poisoning. Feline Leukemia is also an option, though it's a little rare that they'd pass away at the same time, and you'd see symptoms. Same would go for really any other bacterial or viral infection.
There are many other possibilites, although considering the timing, I am much more inclined to think there is something funky going on in your neighborhood.
Really, the only way to tell would be to have a necropsy done.
In the mean time, I'd keep a close eye on your pups, and keep them on a tight leash.

I am really, really sorry for your loss.

I worked in a vet hospital as a tech and it seems like they may have ate something that poisoned them. It is weird that they both died at or around the same time. If it was cat parvo you would have noticed bloody diarrhea and vomiting and really sick cats. Did you recently put out any mouse poison or maybe your neighbors did? So sorry to hear about your cats, that is so sad. I'm not sure about poisonous frogs, I don't know much about that. How old were they? I hope this helped and again I am so sorry.

Your cats could have died from a multitude of ways simply because you let them outdoors. The outdoor world has infinite risks to cats and a lot of these risks could result in death. There are diseases for one, which is probably how your cats died. Below are a couple of websites which state the dangers of the outdoor world to cats, one of them may include the answer to your question.
