How can I improve my new bunnys eating habits?
I have a beautiful brand new baby bunny whom I just brought home about 4 days ago, and he is just wonderful. The only trouble is that he instantly eats everything I give to him. The second I fill his food dish he eats all of it in one sitting and he seems to be constantly hungry. I don't want to hurt him by giving him too much food, but I don't want to give him too little. Is there any way I can improve his eating habits and get him to take more time to eat his food?

Give him a small portion at a time. Once he's finished with a couple pieces, wait about 30 seconds and give him another portion.

I don't think that this is anything to worry about. That is the exact same way that my buuny eats too. He has done this since the day I got him. If you are concerned take him to the vet and ask if he is at a healthy weight. From there you can tell if you need to feed him more or less.

Baby bunnies may need to eat more because they are growing. Offer him mainly timothy hay, which will fill him up but has lots of fiber. Check out the House Rabbit Society Web site. Everything you need to know about rabbit care is there! Enjoy your bunny!

less pellets and more leafy greens and timothy hay. make sure there is lotsa fresh water and room for the rabbit to exercise. rabbits are grazers by nature.

My rabbits get get their food bowls fill ever other day, the also get heaps of roots and greens, by feeding lots of roots and greens this cuts down on the amount of water they drink.
