Why don't people 'ever' give their books away for free? I mean the ones that are 'so important'?
I first thought of this when I was reading something Richard Dawkins said. He thought his book 'The God Delusion' was incredibly important, or something. So I thought, 'if it's so important, why not just give everyone a free copy in the mail or something?'
Then I got to thinking. Why doesn't ANYBODY do this? Why doesn't Rick Warren or Billy Graham or Pat Robertson send books to people for free? Or Glenn Beck or Rush Limbaugh, or Al Franken or Michael Moore? Or any of those people who write books that will help people live healthy or get out of debt?
What are your thoughts on this?

Because they want money from it. When you work hard on a book and get it published, let me know when I can have my free copy. It's unlikely you will, because you would want the money that you would get if I actually bought it.

The authors need to make money, duh.

The Stereotype
I know, I was thinking the same thing when watching Sid Roth's It's Supernatural. I think it's a way to get money, for things that are needed.

Because those people want to make a living like everyone else?

Sela
They couldn't afford to be authors if they weren't paid.
